Having cut his teeth as part of A Million Dead, Frank Turner cut loose last year with his debut solo album, "Sleep Is For The Week", an album that appears to have been not only a critical success, but one that attracted the attention of the public
That Frank has been described as, "A young Robb Johnson" will give most of you the impression that Frank is the sort of person that believes music and song can still make an impression and help change the world for the better. It's not a bad philosophy when you have the writting talent to support that belief and Turner has.
The key thing is that Frank Turner aims to do this through songs that entertain. There's no point in having impressive liberal beliefs in a better society if you songs are so boring no one listens. Fortunately Frank has a deft touch, entertaining, not just informing.
Like a lot of social songwriters, Turner, manages to find a perspective away from I, he reaches out towards other events and perspectives.
I've been impressed with Frank Turner's, to date, limited output and look forward to checking him out as a performer.
